Retired Breeders

Our queens are bred no more than once a year, and not more than a total of 3 times before being retired. Once retired, they are spayed and can then be offered for sale as companions. These cats are highly socialized and perfect for someone wanting an older cat. They are also offered at a significant discount, compared to the kittens, and may be a more affordable option for someone who really wants a Sphynx but not at the typical Sphynx cost. Occasionally we may also have a retired king available.

her story

Nyx was the first cat brought into the cattery. She is a beautiful 4 year old elf-eared seal point cat with blue eyes. She produced 2 litters of kittens for us and proved to be a wonderful, attentive mother. She got a little too hormonal with the last litter and the decision was made NOT to breed her again. The hormonal fluctuations of breeding did result in a moderate amount of hair growth for her, as often happens with Sphynxes who are bred, but she is as soft as velvet.

She is fully vaccinated and microchipped; she was spayed in May of 2025. She carries one copy of the HCM gene, as do all of our females, but her cardio scans have always been normal. She can be a bit temperamental with other cats, but is a loving girl for the most part. She likes to get under the covers to snuggle. She might be best as an only cat, at least initially; she does well with dogs and children. She did adjust well to the other cats brought into the cattery, but they were all younger than her at the time they were brought home, and she quickly established her authority with them. I’m not sure how well she’d adjust to another adult cat, though that is often a problem seen with any 2 cats that are introduced as adults, and therefore not specific to Nyx’s temperament.
